The Mixed Reality Business Development Manager operates at a strategic level with customers and field teams and has deep understanding of the business and technical issues surrounding a Mixed Reality Engagement, including how Mixed Reality empowers Dynamics 365 and Data/AI solutions and the importance of user experience and design led thinking. The role will deliver value by building the territory plan, developing and closing strategic opportunities with account teams, and crafting innovative solutions and proposals. You are responsible for leading the collaborative solution design process and opportunity scope, solution/approach, and budgetary estimations in partnership with the Mixed Reality Delivery team.


Responsibilities

  • Provides strong leadership for Mixed Reality business prioritization across the territory. This includes close collaboration with the Account Executive (AE), Services Sales Executive (SE), Services Solution Specialist (SSSP), Account Delivery Executive (ADE), Mixed Reality Delivery Teams and Mixed Reality Device Sales and Product Group.
  • Develops demand generation plan and engages with customers to identify, generate and nurture new business opportunities. Influences the mindset of customers by challenging the status-quo; showcasing the unique role that Mixed Reality can play and building out business value to support deal value and closure.
  • Drives solutions wins by leading envision, design, business case development and customer-centered proposals to ensure quality outcomes and deal velocity. This includes the production of well-crafted Statements of Work (SOW’s) that lead to profitable engagements that meet customers’ expectations for scope, timelines, and deliverables, and include the reuse of IP as a deal shaping foundation.


Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of high technology services sales, solution development or business development experience, strong technical acumen
  • Prior experience with emerging technologies centered on mixed reality, strongly preferred
  • Prior work exploring and innovating new IP, genres, and product experiencesHigh initiative and self-starting absolutely required
  • Proven ability to work with a variety of customers from a variety of enterprises and industries
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and drive for excellence
  • Must have a customer-obsessed approach to innovation and quality
  • Ability to travel up to 50% at times (once travel is safe)
  • This position can be based anywhere in the United States. Relocation not available

The Security, Compliance and Identity Business Development team at Microsoft is responsible for identifying and executing strategic business development opportunities which serve to accelerate time to market, addresas product gaps and grow the overall business; we’re looking for the right person to join us and fill an exciting new role.
This Business Development Manager (BDM) role will be primarily focused on supporting our Identity related portfolio of products and services. We are looking for a dynamic individual, who is able to also cover some aspects of our Compliance business as needed. If selected for the role, you’ll propose, structure and execute strategic partnerships and other inorganic engagements with ISV’s, CSV’s, MSSP’s, SI’s and more – all with a focus on growing the Security, Compliance and Identity (SCI) business.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Collaborate with stakeholders across the company (engineering, marketing, finance, legal) in implementation of business and product strategy, translate these strategies into a partner plan and identify partnerships that can accelerate our business growth beyond our owned and operated properties.
  • Transaction Execution: Assist in identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing specific inorganic opportunities in support of the broader partner strategy including developing the business case for a partnership (strategic rationales and economics), and assist with structuring deal terms and negotiations. Communicate with internal stakeholders at all stages of the deal process to secure buy-in and approvals. Help drive complex deals and drive less complex deals to closure while maintaining a willingness to walk away from deals which did not meet business objectives or introduced an unacceptable risk while adhering to core deal principles.
  • Deal Governance: Monitor deal performance for moderately complex deals and track efficacy relative to expectations post-close. Support maintainance of ongoing relationships with partners to ensure compliance and commitments are fulfilled.
  • Internal Partnerships – Build strong relationships with our internal business partners in order to have highly functioning virtual deal teams which you’ll lead through the Strategy Development, Business Model and Stakeholder Approval process.
  • External Partnerships: Establish a network of relationships across the industry with potential partners, competitors, investors, thought leaders, etc. plus retain, manage, and help grow a portfolio of partners.
  • Industry Expertise: Develop industry expertise including competitive and market dynamics, product and technology trends.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3+ years of business experience in investment banking, technology, consumer, enterprise, consulting or related industry.
  • Bachelor’s in business or related field or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience
  • Internships will be considered as applicable experiences.


Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in structuring, negotiating, and managing complex commercial deals and acquisitions is nice to have but not a requirement.
