Job Description

KAST is growing our team of seasoned business professionals and are seeking a Digital Services Manager (contractor) to support our Digital Economy: Rapid Response + Resiliency (DER3) Program in partnership with Innovate BC. This community-first initiative was created in response to the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and is designed to support small-medium sized non-tech businesses, in any sector, to enter or expand into the digital economy. We are seeking an empathetic and highly engaging relationship builder to take the lead on managing the intake and assessment of Digital Service Providers and Subject Matter Experts that join the program.

  • Perform outreach to introduce suitable Digital Service Providers (DSPs) and Subject Matter Experts to the program
  • Engage with each potential DSP, establishing relationships, setting expectations for future engagements and conversations with clients in the program
  • Complete intake interviews with each DSP via telephone, and online meetings
  • Conduct reviews and assessments of each DSP’s capabilities, capacities, and primary areas of focus
  • Categorize, track availability of, and maintain communication with registered DSP’s
  • Identify levels of competency, capacity, and reach of each DSP
  • Prepare reports, summarize key services and skills and primary classifications of each DSP
  • Collaborate closely with a fully-remote DER3 team to review clients, and identify opportunities to introduce DSP’s to help the clients achieve their goals
  • Work with Digital Business Manager to perform Online Presence Assessments (OPAs) for each client file

  • 10+ years of experience as an entrepreneur or business consultant, with exposure to online properties and e-commerce
  • Excellent digital literacy, strong familiarity with the digital economy and working with “tech experts”
  • Experience with modernization, business transformation or business realignment projects or programs would be a significant asset
  • Ability to constructively analyze a businesses online presence from website to social media
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills, and the ability to quickly distill information from personal interactions and interviews
  • Strong business network in the Kootenays and understanding of the region’s business needs
  • Digital literacy and strong familiarity with the digital economy
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and ability to establish relationships quickly
  • Underlying sense of compassion, empathy and community
  • Fully comfortable with connecting with clients via online video conferencing software or phone
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fully-remote team environment, must have a full working home office, computer and cell


20-25 per week, 6-month contract position
