The opportunity we have
Governance and Data Compliance Officer x 1
Full Time – 35 hours per week
Permanent – Home-Based

This has meant we are evolving the work we do to meet the new skills challenges emerging for employers.
This new role sits within the Governance and Assurance team working across the whole Enginuity Group. It’s an exciting time for this newly formed team and an opportunity to drive change and make a real impact. We’re looking for someone to take responsibility for promoting a culture of information governance and compliance best practices across the Group. Reporting to the Head of Governance and Assurance, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Group’s Corporate and Information Governance Frameworks as well as working collaboratively to develop and maintain the processes, systems and reporting for business continuity and emergency planning.
Key to this role is providing advice, information and support to all of our colleagues and stakeholders on data compliance and best practice principles, ensuring our information governance policies are relevant and fit for purpose. You’ll be our go to person for General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) information and advice and will ensure we are compliant, and our colleagues understand their responsibilities under the regulations.

You’ll be hitting the ground running so we’re looking for someone who has previous experience of data privacy and protection. You might have operated as a Data Protection Officer or equivalent so will have strong knowledge and experience of responding to Subject Access Requests, providing Information Governance advice, and developing policies and procedures.
You’ll have conducted audits and be experienced in writing reports to share findings and recommend corrective actions. We’re ideally looking for someone who has experience in risk, compliance, legal or other control-related functions so you can demonstrate your knowledge and skills in these areas and how you’ve made a real impact.
You will be someone who can demonstrate your excellent organisational, project and time management skills to manage multiple priorities and you’ll possess the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the business to build collaborative relationships. With strong attention to detail, you’ll use your analytical and problem-solving skills to collect and interpret a wide range of information and suggest solutions. You’ll also be confident to challenge a range of key stakeholders in support of achieving the desired outcomes.
· A degree or equivalent qualification.
· Professional qualification in information governance (data protection) or having held a role as Data Protection Officer.
· Experience of data privacy and protection including responding to data / subject access requests.
· Professional qualification or significant experience in records management.
· Experience of providing Information Governance advice and guidance.
· Experience in developing and implementing effective, robust policies and procedures.
· Sound knowledge of information governance legislation and compliance.
If you have or know about the following its a plus
· Contracts knowledge (understanding of commercial contracts and the drafting and application of)
· Proven experience of advising / working with staff / depts across a business operating in a regulated sector.
· Experience of legal and commercial contract reviews
· Highly skilled MS Office Practitioner (demonstrating high level of knowledge in Excel).
· Experience of advising and working with colleagues across a business that operates within a regulated sector.
