Tenneco is seeking a drives, self-motivated Human Resources focused student who has an interest in gaining hands-on experience working at our fast paced Ride Performance technical center located in Monroe, MI.
As a Tenneco Summer Human Resources Intern, you will be given the opportunity to learn about your chosen career field through hands-on work, management shadowing opportunities, and training events, among other responsibilities that support the Human Resources department.
Possible responsibilities include:
- Database research and projects
- Training system projects
- Engagement projects
- Assist with onboarding of hourly and salaried staff
- Assist with team activities
This position will be part-time, about 25 hours a week. Tenneco is looking for an HR Intern to start in January.
Required of an Intern:
Must be able to travel throughout the term of the internship
Must be able to work independently and in a team based environment
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Effective time management skills
Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Student currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
Student with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher
Ability to work at least 20 hours per week during the internship period starting January 2021
Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license
Ability to provide own transportation to/from the job site
Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
Student currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, Psychology (with a focus in human resources) from an accredited institution
Student with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
