Operations and Compliance Technology develops and maintains systems in support of Morgan Stanley’s global Operations, legal and compliance business processes, including (but not limited to) Settlements, Confirmations, Regulatory Reporting, Position Keeping, Corporate Actions processing and other post-trade functions. Operations and Compliance Technology is a global organization that is client-focused and functionally aligned. Team Profile:
ACATS Technology is responsible for providing solutions to support Automated Customer Account Transfer Service for Morgan Stanley. This service interacts with DTCC and other broker-dealers on the street to facilitate transferring of client assets. The application suite built by this team is used by all the Financial Advisors and Wealth Management Core Processing Operations users.

Primary Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Java developer who can take ownership for the whole end to end delivery, performing analysis, design, coding, testing, and maintenance of large-scale and distributed applications. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated team player and is likely to have significant experience in application development, a strong technical background and good communication skills. He/she will interact directly with the users and with other technologists across the firm when using their framework/software.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills required (essential):
Excellent working knowledge of the following technologies: Java, Databases, Middleware (RESTful services).

Sound understanding of Object Oriented Analysis, Design and Programming, familiarity with Design Patterns.

Hands on experience with multithreaded systems.

Experience of iterative / agile development practices.

Exposure to working in a global delivery team.
Comfortable with direct interaction with the business users at all levels.

Skills desired (optional):

Familiarity with MQ, Autosys, Hibernate, Spring
Prior experience in investment banking

We are seeking an experienced Java developer to join a successful team delivering Morgan Stanley?s Alpha Capture program (TIDE). The team develops and maintains analytical tools that are used by IED Sales, Research teams for entry, distribution and analysis of trade ideas.
The role involves all aspects of the software development life cycle: analysis, design and implementation. We need a flexible and practical technologist who demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills, enjoys all aspects of software development and will contribute to the success of the team.
Be technically proficient and enthusiastic Java developer, with a desire to help engineer new and enhance existing components
Be responsible for supporting and contributing to different phases of the product lifecycle including analysis, design and development
Be an active contributor to architectural design meetings and code review
Be passionate about working with leading web technologies and demonstrate excitement for new technology and an eagerness to learn
Be a self-starter with strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
Be a team player and have the ability to work collaboratively with teams across geographical areas

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills Required:
Excellent Java skills and proficiency with concurrent programming
Experience with spring, web services and distributed cache technologies
Experience of agile.
Experience with ANSI SQL.
Demonstrable ability to meet deadlines and deliver results
Ability to work within a team, communicating progress, design, issues, ideas effectively.
Bachelor’s degree or higher, ideally in Computer Science or a subject with an extensive Software development or Mathematical component.

Skills Desired:

Experience with or knowledge of Hazelcast would be a plus.
Experience with testing framework like Mockito, PowerMock etc.
Experience with Angular or a comparable modern HTML5 Javascript framework
