Job Description

  • Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Transportation Logistics, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to cross-functional programs
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating on the design, implementation, and optimization of initiatives
  • Experience with data mining and data analysis
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with analytical tools such as SQL, Tableau or Microsoft Access

Amazon Worldwide Operations is looking for Program Managers with a strong delivery record and proven project management experience to own strategic, tactical, cross-functional and technology projects and programs. These roles require scoping and creating project plans, developing processes, coordinating and driving execution, and communicating to senior management on status, risks and process/product changes. Cross-team coordination, project management and executive presentation skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the single-threaded owner responsible for planning, execution and delivery of defined projects
  • Partner with teams across the business you support and beyond to source, allocate, and coordinate resources
  • Influence design and development of strategic processes
  • Manage and deliver results on complex projects across multiple organizations
  • Work with program managers and business leaders to communicate and impact critical business initiatives
  • Engage with stakeholders to provide lift and guide the team and their customers toward consensus
  • Negotiate process improvements and needed features, distinguishing between important and urgent
  • Gather and analyze data to help drive business decisions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or use of PMP/Lean Six Sigma/Kaizen
  • 2+ years of experience in program management, logistics, operations, supply chain, transportation or equivalent professional or military experience
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous environment
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment when working in stressful situations
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, mathematic, and analytical skills using data to drive decisions in a business environment
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in effective communication of goals and strategies
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • High attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple competing projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation is desired
  • Analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
  • Ability to clearly communicate data insights to others
  • Ability to influence internal/external stakeholders without authority to adopt new processes/initiatives
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager / owner mentality
  • Demonstrated ability to dive deep in understanding the product, our business and the competitive landscape
