Our Engineers support manufacturing operations to ensure they remain operational, to continuously improve and innovate. With our extensive range of facilities and environments, our Engineers have opportunities across many diverse areas including Biological, Chemical, Automation, Capital Projects, Maintenance, Safety, Process Development, Technical Services, Utilities, and Validation.

Under the supervision of an Engineering Associate Director, the Engineering, Maintenance, and Utilities (EM&U) Manager will direct a team of hourly union personnel who are responsible for the maintenance and repair of the laboratory, production, and utility equipment in the assigned building(s). The Manager is the first line leader responsible for the management of the skilled craft mechanics in the associated maintenance shop.


ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Ensure that Shift(s) objectives are achieved while reliably supplying a quality product at a competitive cost consistent with our Company, Regulatory Agency, and State and Local code requirements for quality, good manufacturing practices (GMP), equal employment opportunity, finances, labor, employee, environment and safety;
  • Tactical and strategic Shift(s) management, including collaboration with indirect staff;
  • Promote the behaviors and principles that drive continuous improvement.


DUTIES

  • Compliance – Responsible for creating and sustaining a culture that ensures that compliance (Safety, Environment, cGMP, etc.) are imperatives for the business. Responsible for establishing a Right First Time culture by reducing waste and constantly driving continuous improvement. Responsible to review and approve compliance documents, as per procedures or need.
  • Supply – Support Shift(s) change meetings (Tier, Muster, etc.). Exercise judgment and decision making to ensure a quality product is reliably produced while managing cost. Responsible for Shift(s) metrics (Attendance, Schedule Adherence, Project Management Compliance etc.).
  • Continuous Improvement – Accountable for developing at our Company Production System (MPS) and continuous improvement culture while achieving MPS Targets and business results for the Shift(s). Develop strategic initiatives related to the manufacturing process, equipment, and human resources in support of long-range operating plans. Report Shift(s) monthly metrics and any action plans to address gaps to the Area Lead. Identify, prioritize, and champion improvement projects to improve process efficiency, cycle time, and yield, reduce process variability, and eliminate waste.
  • Financial Stewardship – Accountable for meeting the Shift(s) operating budget and continuously reducing cost. Ensure members of the Shift(s) have business acumen and understand how they may impact business finances.
  • People Management – Responsible for creating and sustaining a highly engaged workforce through the utilization of our Company Leadership Behaviors and Inclusion. Provide coaching on professional development and career paths. Provide timely feedback and performance evaluations for direct reports after obtaining the relevant input and evaluation. Provide feedback and input on performance evaluations for indirect staff. Support Talent Management. Managing direct report attendance, absenteeism, and vacation time to effectively support assigned buildings.

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum of five (5) years of experience OR
  • A high school diploma/GED and ten (10) years of experience


Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum (4) years’ experience in a functional area, such as Operations, Technical Operations, Technology, Engineering, Maintenance, Military and/or previous supervisory experience in industrial manufacturing.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate special projects, shutdowns and/or maintenance activities


Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of (2) years’ experience in supporting relevant manufacturing or processing (aseptic/sterile, bulk, solid oral dosage, packaging, utilities etc.)
  • Three (3) years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of High Performing Organization tools and methodology, including lean processing.
  • Demonstrated experience of interacting with site, divisional or regulatory audits
  • Strong communication (written/verbal), and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Experience in prioritizing conflicting responsibilities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Plant maintenance, instrumentation, project engineering and/or operations experience
  • Experience interfacing with Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Working Knowledge of cGMP for pharmaceutical and/or vaccine manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma Methodology, Root Cause Analysis, Failure Mode Effects Analysis, knowledge in reliability engineering (including asset life cycle management). Computerized Management Maintenance Systems SAP), and CMRP certification desired.

Currently to our amazing Bakery team in Lovosice we are looking for an inspirational

Maintenance Supervisor

The purpose of the role is to create and implement Maintenance, Facilty and Assets Reliability (AR) strategy for Lovosice factory to optimize cost, improve asset performance, lead assets maintenance / facility activities and ensure to have right capabilities & competencies to provide full support to the production.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Proactively coach, mentor and develop the team of engineers, technicians and specialists (50 people in total)
  • Ensure maintaining highest maintenance standards in production lines, bulk handling system, utilities operations and facility management
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with the core teams
  • Implement standardized best practice processes and systems to optimize maintenance strategies
  • Ensure legal, quality and safety compliance of the equipment, utilities and infrastructure of the factory
  • Build internal expertise in continuous improvement methodology and support development of the operators’ technical skills
  • Maintenance/ facility management /manufacturing/engineering experience
  • University degree or technical high school diploma with demonstrated successful career path
  • Min. 2-year experience in people manager role in a factory or very good experience as individual contributor in maintenance
  • Very good English and fluent Czech/Slovak – must have
  • Understanding of the continuous improvement methodology and status quo questioning mindset
  • Six sigma (TPM) experience and a practical application of PM/AM would be a strong asset
  • Very good interpersonal and communication skills, being a trustworthy partner and team-player
