Job Description

  • Experience managing and developing a high-performing team
  • Experience managing a portfolio of multifaceted, global content projects with tight deadlines (Agile methodology preferred)
  • Experience establishing content quality standards and strategy for single-source content management systems
  • Proven results driving innovation and initiatives across a large content set
  • Comfortable questioning existing practices and implementing continuous improvement efforts
  • Working knowledge of A/B testing and measuring content performance through experimentation
  • Proven history of using web analytics and measuring success using key performance indicators
  • Experience optimizing content sets and tools for search and discoverability (SEO)

The DOIT organization is looking for an experienced manager to join our team in Seattle as part of a strategic investment to build technology that will enable Amazon to adopt the most scientific approach to Global Talent Management. Our team is seeking an innovative and highly motivated Manager to lead our newly formed content team. You’ll guide a team to create experiences that hundreds of thousands of Amazonians use every day to manage their careers. We are looking for a talented and experienced leader that has a proven track record of establishing a bold vision and delivering bar-raising, customer-centric experiences.

The right candidate for this role will be an experienced operator, creative, strategic thinker with a track record of successfully launching content in products to deliver experiences that customers love. You are right for this role if you thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, you are undaunted by ambiguity and deftly juggle competing priorities. You are right for this role if you have exceptional ability to bring collaborative leadership to cross-functional teams and apply sound judgement to make appropriate tradeoffs to deliver world-class results.

You will:

  • Have content management experience with the ability to drive execution of a broad content portfolio from planning through post-launch measurement.
  • Develop and evangelize strategies to improve content quality, maintainability, and usability and get agreement from stakeholders to execute against these strategies
  • Identify, promote, and implement strategies to improve content development workflow and team efficiency
  • Build and leverage strong relationships with multiple stakeholders to deliver complex, global projects
  • Demonstrable people management skills incl. i.e., performance management, coaching, resource management, employee development, across a range of functional skills (UX writers, content marketers, learning experience designers).
  • Continuously develop, monitor, and interpret metrics to assess content and improve our customer experience across teams
  • Use knowledge of trends in content experience to drive innovation throughout the content portfolio
