Information Technology Procurement (ITP) is a category within Prudential’s Sourcing and Procurement Group (SPG) ITP is responsible for managing vendors for IT hardware and software acquisitions, as well as IT consulting and services for the enterprise. The group is customer service focused, fast paced with a team environment. We manage IT purchasing, contract negotiating, and hiring for consulting services, as well as Vendor Governance support of technology engagements across the Enterprise.

As Manager-IT Procurement your role is a key member of Technology Procurement and partners closely with the technology business partners on tier 2 technology acquisitions, IT escalations including wireless technology account management, vendor management and to provide best-in-class procurement support to Prudential on strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
  • Managing IT hardware and software vendors focusing on vendor performance, product availability and forecasting
  • Managing Tier 2 IT hardware and software purchasing inclusive of back-orders and sourcing of hard to get product
  • Management of escalations with vendors for technology product and services including wireless technologies, work closely with internal business partners to ensure products and services are delivered timely in support of business operations
  • Manage and negotiate with technology consulting vendors which includes conducting vendor review meetings, negotiating costs and terms in partnership with stakeholders and managing escalations.
  • Negotiate with vendors and provide pricing advice to the various lines of business
  • Interact with internal client, vendors, contract personnel and other partners
  • Work closely with the legal department on new IT contracts for business groups, contract extensions/amendments or any ad hoc issues that arise
  • Research industry trends and key market information in order to look for ways to improve our process and provide continued quality service
