Morgan Stanley Private Bank, National Association (“MSPBNA”) offers banking and credit products and services, including securities-based lending, mortgage loans and home equity lines of credit primarily to Morgan Stanley Wealth Management’s high net worth clients.
Morgan Stanley Home Loans is expanding its Wealth Management Mortgage Lending Division. We are establishing a new Home Loans office in the Phoenix, AZ market. This new site will play a key role in the Morgan Stanley Home Loans expansion in serving our Wealth Management client base, complementing our existing New York and Coppell, TX offices. As part of Global Wealth Management Division (GWM), we have a partnership with Morgan Stanley’s retail brokerage network that provides a limitless proprietary source of inbound business. MSPBNA is seeking a high potential candidate for the position of Relationship Management Leader. This Relationship Management Leader role is an Executive Director role. The role will report into the Head of Relationship Management. In addition to the leadership/management role of a team of Relationship Managers, this individual will have oversight responsibilities for the MSHL Tempe, AZ location (opening in 2020).
Position Responsibilities:
  • The Relationship Management function provides day to day supervision of mortgage transactions in the pipeline; the function includes customer and sales relationship management when questions/ issues/ exceptions arise as a through the life of a transaction.
  • The Relationship Management Leader manages a team of 8 – 10 Relationship Managers who will be regionally aligned to the Private Bank National Sales/ Morgan Stanley Wealth Management Field organization. The Relationship Management Leader will:
  • Partner with regional and national Private Bank National Sales management to ensure top notch client experiences.
  • Partner with Legal/ Compliance/ Operations/ Underwriting/ Sales to ensure that each mortgage transaction is a high quality client experience for our Morgan Stanley clients.
  • This leader will:
  • Recruit and Train qualified candidates.
  • Create development plans to support employee career growth, retain top talent and reduce attrition.
  • Build a culture for the Relationship Managers that supports Morgan Stanley’s core values.
  • Leverage metrics for tracking/ scorecard in managing daily performance.
  • Interact with regional peers to understand business needs and develop performance plans to grow market share, address feedback/ inefficiencies/ escalations.
  • Identify operational opportunities and implement performance plans to maximize production.
– Ensure compliance with all policies and regulations.

IMPORTANT PLEASE NOTE: This role will be based in our Gilbert Office until October 2020 when our new Morgan Stanley office in Tempe is completed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:
  • 10+ years of mortgage operations experience. Inclusive of sales, processing, call center management, closing and post-closing.
  • Experience managing a team of 25+ employees.
  • Experience in Client Relationship Management roles. Ultra-high net worth client segments or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience managing relationships with Financial Advisors/ Private Bankers/ Field Management.
  • Experience in managing high performing mortgage operations teams
  • Experience with managing large mortgage pipelines across regionalized teams.
  • Bachelor degree or Advanced Degree preferred.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Has to be eligible for employment with an FDIC-insured institution and able to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (“NMLS”) as a mortgage loan originator.
  • Deep knowledge of mortgage products and extensive client service experience.
  • Understanding and knowledge of call center operations best practices.
  • The ability to drive daily production performance.
  • The ability to establish a culture as defined by Morgan Stanley.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize and plan accordingly.
  • Superior leadership and Management skills.
