Institutional Infrastructure Solutions (IIS) is a new business unit that provides world-class service to Morgan Stanley’s institutional clients including Multi-Family Offices and the Graystone business. IIS supports clients in partnership with Morgan Stanley’s Fund Services infrastructure, an outsourced Wealth Management OCIO, the client’s MS Financial Advisor, and WM Operations. IIS specifically supports all client service model execution processes including Client Onboarding and Maintenance, Money Movement, Asset Aggregation and Accounting, Billing, and Client/IO Reporting
The candidate will help to support high-priority initiatives across IIS with a focus on building and scaling a premier shared service model for our institutional client segment. The candidate will be responsible for identifying and refining business opportunities/requirements, assessing and reengineering platforms, and executing strategic solutions by leveraging the Firm’s agile framework. The position will have a unique opportunity to engage with stakeholders and leadership across multiple lines of business (including Wealth Management, ISG, WMIR, Operations, Technology, and Digital) to enhance our business offering and operating model.
We are seeking a candidate with strategic mindset and entrepreneurial spirit, with proven experience in strategy / product management and a solid understanding of the wealth management business.
Primary Responsibilities:
‒ Support the strategy and project management for several critical projects to create new service offerings and enhance internal processes for the institutional client segment
‒ Help with all aspects of large-scale and complex workstreams, including; conceptualizing project scope, timelines, and dependencies; tracking and reporting of key milestones; and engaging/influencing project stakeholders
‒ Engage with key business partners to gather, conceptualize, and define requirements which will enhance and streamline the business processes that support institutional clients
‒ Conduct primary and secondary research to define complex business problems and develop both tactical and strategic solutions
‒ Prepare and deliver persuasive, data-driven arguments and presentations to senior management to allow for informed strategic decision-making
‒ Support all aspects of the product life-cycle including requirement gathering, execution / agile leadership, user acceptance testing, and ongoing subject matter expertise
‒ Be results oriented and quickly turn around high quality work in a fast paced environment

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:
‒ 1-3 years of experience in financial services, wealth management, and/or business strategy/management related fields
‒ Undergraduate degree required
‒ Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem solving skills with the ability to define complex business problems, synthesize data, and provide and execute on tactical and strategic solutions
‒ Strong written and verbal communication skills in both business and technical contexts
‒ Be solutions- and detail-oriented and quickly turnaround high-quality work without sacrificing speed or accuracy
‒ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team, and under strict and changing deadlines
‒ Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and work ethic
‒ Strong project management, organizational, communication, and analytical skills
‒ Familiarity with agile framework / JIRA is preferred, but not required
‒ A track record of success and a demonstrated ability to exercise good judgement and discretion
