Job Description

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, Statistics or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience as an analyst or engineer in the data/BI space
  • 5+ years hands-on analytics work experience, with proven quantitative orientation.
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
  • Advanced skills in SQL, ETL, Data Warehouse solutions and databases
  • Proficient with using scripting languages (e.g SQL, Python, R etc.) and data manipulation/analysis libraries for analyzing and modeling data
  • Ability to distill complex customer requirements into problem definitions, dealing with ambiguity and competing objectives and performing the analysis to drive insights
  • Experience building measures and metrics, and developing reporting solutions
  • Fluency with statistical analytics and programming languages such as R, Python, Ruby, etc.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

As a team within CTPS, Partner Solutions & Support (PSAS), strives to make Amazon the best way for Selling Partners to reach customers locally and globally and to operate their businesses, driven by the accurate and efficient support and solutions we provide them. PSAS focuses on both preventing Selling Partner (Seller, Vendor and Brand Registry) contacts through preventing issues based on knowledge obtained during our support interactions, and for handling those contacts with quality and efficiency. To achieve this vision, we invest in technology to eliminate the root cause defects that cause Selling Partners to seek help, build self-service tools to resolve their issues on their own without waiting for help from Amazon, and provide Associates with the tools that automate routine steps and help them deliver consistent, efficient, quality resolution, Our team includes product managers, program managers, SDEs, scientists, and a range of operational and other specialty roles, and we operate at scale with over 17K Amazonians in our team, spanning 50+ global locations, and handling over 50M contacts a year

We are looking for a passionate, talented, and inventive business intelligence engineer to join the PSAS Science and Analytics team to build industry-leading technology. Amazon’s growth requires leaders who move fast, have an entrepreneurial spirit to create new solutions, have an unrelenting tenacity to get things done, and are capable of breaking down and solving complex problems.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in analytics and data engineering and have the aptitude to incorporate new approaches and methodologies while dealing with ambiguities. They will set the vision, strategy, and roadmap, and work alongside with stakeholders in the organization to make it happen. They know and love working with business intelligence tools, can model multidimensional datasets, and are able to create and maintain efficient & automated processes. They should have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, and to build and communicate compelling value propositions, and work across the organization to achieve consensus. This role requires a strong passion for customers, a high level of comfort navigating ambiguity, and a keen sense of ownership and drive to deliver results.

  • Master’s degree or higher in Statistics, Data Science, or an equivalent quantitative field
  • 7+ years of industry experience working as a BIE or related specialty
  • Experience using Cloud Storage and Computing technologies such as AWS Redshift, S3, Hadoop, etc.
  • Understanding of data warehousing and data modeling
  • Experience communicating results and business impact of analytical deep dives to senior leadership
  • Experience working as a BIE in a technology company
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
