How will you make an impact?
Assay Development and Analytics (ADA) is a division of Process Development (PD) at Viral Vector Services (VVS) in Alachua, FL. The PD division is responsible for the transfer and development of client processes into GMP ready procedures. ADA is responsible for developing the analytical assays needed to evaluate these products, testing the PD material, and transferring assays to Quality Control.

This Scientist II, Data Review Scientist opportunity will support development and testing of PCR-based methods, ELISA-based methods, and cell-based assays that support process development and quality.

What will you do?

  • Under direct supervision, develop and execute cell-based assays

  • Under direct supervision, develop and execute nucleic acid and protein based assays

  • Routine assays such as qPCR, ddPCR, agarose gel electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE

  • Order laboratory supplies, maintain required inventory, participate in laboratory upkeep and cleaning

  • Other assigned duties as per business needs

How will you get here?

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years, Master’s with 3+ years, or Ph.D. in biology, Chemistry or related field

  • Cell-based techniques (infectious titer assays)

  • Protein techniques (SDS-PAGE, ELISA)

  • DNA techniques (qPCR, ddPCR)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to speak effectively to groups of customers and employees

  • Excellent organizational skills, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Working hours are expected Monday through Friday 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility to work nights or weekends as needed.
