Job Description

Your Opportunity:
Charles Schwab Asset Management Solutions (SAMS) is responsible for building and managing Schwab mutual funds, Schwab ETFs and other manages accounts, with assets over $500 billion dollars in money market, equity, and fixed income products.

The SAMS Business Analyst acts as the liaison between the Schwab Asset Management Solutions (SAMS) Investment Risk and Performance teams and the SAMS Technology group. This is an individual contributor role and will function as the primary liaison with business stakeholders and SAMS technology developers, architects, and support staff. In particular, the Business Analyst will be the functional lead for the applications supporting the Investment Risk and Performance teams including Axioma, MSCI Barra One, FactSet, Morningstar, Zephyr, and several custom-developed solutions to support risk management and performance reporting.

What you are good at:

  • Gathering requirements and facilitating user acceptance testing of the system development life cycle serving as contact between our business partners and SAMS Technology to ensure that business requirements are well-documented and transformed into functional technical solutions
  • Facilitating communication and interaction between users, developers, system design architects and system integrators
  • Gaining in-depth business knowledge to successfully represent the business community in arriving at technical solutions that lead business strategies through implementation
  • Ensuring that the final system solution is delivered successfully to our business partners
  • Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements Isolate, replicate, and report defects and verify defect fixes.
  • Participate in tracking and prioritization of defects.
  • Establishing fact based measures of test efficiency, effectiveness, and product readiness
  • Help facilitate vendor management over Risk Analytics and Performance data providers including upgrades, integrations, and new features
  • Establish working relationships with internal upstream data source providers to anticipate data needs and ensure new requests are submitted and managed as they are needed

What you have:

  • 7 + years of experience in systems development life cycle including the ability to define and document specifications with the following:
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze/provide technology recommendations to the business
  • Experienced working with developers to design/analyze alternative technical solutions, test completed code and complete a smooth implementation with the business partners
  • Proficient analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills
  • 5 + years of relevant experience working in IT with strong knowledge of QA procedures and methodology
  • Ability to lead a project team to collectively agree on project decisions and action steps
  • Confidence in presenting strategic and tactical visions for planning and day-to-day management of project goal
  • Ability to manage and communicate multiple and changing priorities and deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of databases, SQL structures and writing complex queries.
  • Direct experience in component-based development (integrating vendor products with in-house developed code)
  • Desire to work with both in-house developed systems and third-party vendor packages
  • Working knowledge of Agile Framework
  • Education: BA/BS
Preferred Skills:
  • Working experience in the asset management arena strongly preferred, especially Risk Management and Performance Measurement & Attribution Reporting

Job Description

ADP is looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst for the Analysis and Design Team. As a Senior Business Systems Analyst you will work as part of a Product Development Agile team to create and document design alternatives to satisfy user, business, statutory and system requirements. The Sr. Business Systems Analyst will partner with Product Owners to present alternatives to users and impacted areas to facilitate design decisions and gain consensus for any project work assigned. This position will also require the qualified candidate to work on statutory compliance changes.
The qualified candidate requires a high level of proficiency in scope management and requirements elicitation for new feature functionality and enhancements on a large payroll application with statutory and compliance concentrations. They must possess strong analytical skills and proven technical aptitude. The candidate will be responsible for ownership of one or more projects; and must be able to perform analysis and document high level requirements, impact analyses, user stories and detailed functional specifications. The candidate will also be responsible for the analysis of statutory compliance changes. Other responsibilities may include communication of new feature deliverables to our service and production support organizations, conducting demos and participating in stakeholder reviews, as well as assuming the role of post-release Subject Matter Expert.
Candidates may be required to work under the project oversight of more senior analysts depending upon the size and complexity of the new statutory/compliance change. In that capacity the candidate would be responsible to work with the Lead or Chief Analyst/Architect for the creation of the project backlog and assignment of the analysis tasks; act as the first point of contact for analysis related issues and risks, monitor the progress of all project analysis assignments to ensure they are delivered on time and with quality.
In this position the Sr. Business Systems Analyst is required to interface with Major and National Accounts Business Partners in addition to the development and testing teams in the US and India. The candidate must display a high degree of collaboration and accountability; and be able to perform under tight deadlines within an aggressive release schedule. This position requires a candidate who can work in a fast-paced environment.

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Create System Designs
  • Work with Statutory Research and Product Management Teams to understand necessary changes/requirements
  • Document project meetings, requirements and user stories with precision, clarity and efficiency
  • Manage project issues proactively in view of the satisfaction of all stakeholders
  • Demonstrate flexibility in meeting the changing needs and priorities of the projects and teams

Qualifications:
  • BS degree in an IT or Management discipline; or equivalent work experience
  • At least 5 years of strong analysis background with proven experience as an analyst on major, complex deliverables and/or multiple projects
  • Some technical experience and the ability to apply agile development methodology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to support the ability to work with a remote project team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:
  • Hands on experience/working knowledge of payroll, payroll processes, and payroll systems is a big plus
  • Familiarity with HCM systems is highly desirable.
  • A CPP Certification is a plus but not required.
