NovaSeq Dx China Sr Product Manager

Job Description

Summary:

Responsible for bringing to market the NovaSeq Dx product line in China, as well as for helping define and driving the strategy for this portfolio.

Responsibilities:

Business Planning and Strategy:

  • Defines and maintains business plan for NovaSeq Dx China, including sustaining projects to drive improvements
  • Develops an integrated strategy and product roadmap that supports the China portfolio
  • Assesses market needs and gaps, opportunities and trends, competitive landscape, and technology landscape for NGS Dx platforms
  • Defines product requirements, business cases and project proposals in relation to the NovaSeq Dx product in the China market
  • Collaborates with China Regional Marketing, Global Marketing and Business Development to drive the adoption of NovaSeq Dx within China
  • Coordinating successful relationships with key customers to ensure successful adoption of the NovaSeq Dx platform in China
  • Motivating and educating the Sales and Regional Marketing team about the NovaSeq Dx China portfolio

Product Lifecycle Management:

  • Leads commercial strategy for new and sustaining projects, from product concept to EOL
  • Serves as primary customer advocate during product development; drives tradeoff decisions
  • Develops and executes plans to register NovaSeq Dx in China
  • Develops & delivers content for new product technical & sales training
  • Coordinates launch activities for multiple products in the portfolio
  • Manages on-market platforms including sustaining activities, messaging and positioning, promotions, and key marketing campaigns
  • Interfaces with manufacturing operations, quality and planning on product issues to ensure products meet customer expectations

Financial Management:

  • Designs / implements effective market and forecast models with stakeholders with granularity at the regional, market, and segment level
  • Sets high level pricing strategy
  • Sets and delivers against product profitability goals

Cross-functional Leadership:

  • Serves as primary contact for NovaSeq Dx in China across relevant teams
  • Creates and fosters a strong team spirit and assumes the role of product champion and evangelist for NovaSeq Dx in China
  • Coordinates relationships with key customers and partners to ensure successful adoption of NovaSeq Dx in China
  • Provides input (e.g., product, service needs) to technical platform roadmap
  • Partners with global marketing teams to provide guidance, input, and sign-off for Go-To-Market strategy and plans

Qualifications and Other Requirements:

  • BS or BA in marketing, or genomics-related field; MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, sales or other customer-facing role in Life Sciences or Clinical field; advanced degree can substitute for some work experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of genomics, next generation sequencing and molecular biology products
  • Understanding of regulatory and reimbursement considerations within China highly desired
  • Experience in oncology, reproductive health and/or genetic health preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in launching and sustaining products in the IVD market is highly desired
  • Must have experience in customer interactions in either a Sales, Business Development or Marketing function
  • Must have experience creating financial models and business cases; strong Excel skills
  • Experience conducting market research and developing detailed product requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to develop long-term product strategies and go-to-market plans
  • Must have proficient written, communication and presentation skills with the ability to present to diverse audiences
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams covering various internal organizations
  • Ability to influence across the organization at all levels
  • Exceptional time and project management skills and ability to prioritize competing requests
  • Self-starter willing to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel to and within Greater China region
