Job Description

The Senior Program Manager – Program Management for Immunoassay is a key contributor to the Product Business Decision Team (PBDT) leading the success of the project. This role directs all phases of the development program, with primary responsibility to lead and control new and/or current business major programs for the Chemistry medical device product line. Lead all aspects of the product development process from initial business case development, to transfer into sustaining operations.

Make or facilitate project trade-off decisions within the boundaries of the PBDT approved project contract

Manage budget, schedule, resource management, and performance of the program and achievement of QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) metrics for their programs. Identify and drive countermeasures in instances when project is overdue or exceeding budget

Be the communication focal point for the project to PBDT, Product Planning Group, and Management

Motivate by example, mentor and develop team members to assure common understanding of the process and project goals

Use Danaher Business System (DBS) tools and concepts to maximize efficiency and quality

Maintain continuous alignment of program scope with strategic business objectives and possesses advanced skills in finance, leadership, communication, influence, cross-cultural awareness, negotiation and conflict resolution.

Work cross-functionally and collaborate frequently with Manufacturing, Engineering, Research and Development, Quality, Regulatory and Marketing, in addition to other functional groups.

Support the strategic direction for the Chemistry product line, including intellectual property, regulatory, development, manufacturing, maintenance, and commercial support required to launch and achieve product line growth targets.

Strategize with Business Unit management to define, support, and implement functional infrastructure to support the needs of the Chemistry business globally.

The crucial requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Engineering, Medical device business management or related field with 14 plus years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with 12 years of the same. MBA is a significant plus.

5 years of related work experience in scientific or engineering management preferred; a minimum of 2-5 years in program or project management

Project management Professional (PMP) certification or similar certification such as Kepner Tregor PM training is a plus.

Strong motivational leadership skills and the ability to influence others without direct authority

ISO and FDA regulated environment experience is recommended.

Ability to travel is required (domestic and internationally) likely 20-30% of time

What you’ll do:


  • Define strategies and launch initiatives for 4 key programs
    within our organization: career ladders & growth, employee satisfaction, internal communications, and maintaining operational alignment across our regional offices.

  • Career ladders & growth:
    Partner with our HR/People/Competency teams to understand what growth programs are being crafted. Ensure our org is providing feedback and contributing to the development of those programs. Coordinate the timing and roll-out of these programs with our global managers. Work with our global managers to measure program success across each quarter.

  • Employee satisfaction:
    Synthesize the employee feedback that we receive through various channels (employee surveys, office hours, 1:1’s) to develop strategies and initiatives that will address concerns and continue to strengthen our organization. These strategies will be developed in partnership with our global management team, our ICs, and our HR partners.

  • Internal communications:
    Work in lockstep with our leadership team and Twitter’s Corporate Comms team to write critical communications for our organization. Including board updates, templates, workshop presentations, org updates, ghost writing, newsletters, and narratives for All Hands.

  • Operational alignment across our regional offices:
    Partner with the Director of Business Operations and our global management team to ensure any new, org-wide strategies are inclusive of regional team feedback. Help create best practices that are global in nature and will build regional continuity across our team.

Requirements

  • 6-8+ years of experience in roles that have been focused on program management and/or operations, preferably within global companies
  • Proven track record of landing multiple, high-impact programs across a large organization
  • Fluent ability to work with senior-level stakeholders in a matrixed organization
  • Exceptional writing that can flex for different audiences including C-level and junior individual contributors
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently across a globally distributed team
  • Excellent ability to build partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Exceptional communication skills; you are able to clearly and confidently engage, defend, and articulate a strategic POV.
  • Ability to travel up to 1-2x per quarter to domestic and/or global office locations
  • A passion for Twitter and our mission
  • BA/BS degree, MBA preferred
