PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Role is considered to be the Career Level. Perform detailed analysis and prepare comprehensive reports to support business operations. Conduct complex modeling, forecasting, trending, variance analysis, business case development, and other general financial and operational analysis. Monitor and coordinate activities to manage operational performance (e.g., safety, reliability, service level, productivity, etc.). Research and provide statistical financial and operational information. Track, maintain, analyze and provide current information on the operation’s business scorecard or key performance indicators (KPIs). Develop, organize and present performance reports for both internal and external use. Develop and conduct short-term and long-range business planning. May develop, implement, evaluate or lead projects or initiatives (e.g., business plan or process improvement initiatives). Provide broad analytical and operational support to the business unit.

Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and conduct short-term and long-range business planning. Conduct complex modeling, forecasting, trending, variance analysis, business case development, and other financial and operational analysis (e.g., operational effectiveness, budget, resource, workload, workforce and capacity utilization, competitor, etc.).
  • Provide statistical information to ensure the most effective utilization of personnel, equipment and/or materials for business operations.
  • Monitor and coordinate activities to manage operational performance (e.g., safety, reliability, service level, productivity, etc.) and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Track, maintain, analyze and provide current information on the operation’s business scorecard or key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Perform analysis of the operation’s cost elements to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Prepare and analyze comprehensive and detailed reports.
  • Develop, organize and present detailed performance reports for both internal and external use.
  • May develop, implement, evaluate or lead projects or initiatives (e.g., business plan or process improvement initiatives).
  • Provide broad analytical and operational support to the business unit.

POSITION SCOPE

This is an individual contributor position that works independently with only general direction, relying on knowledge skills and judgment acquired through education and relevant experience to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals. The position regularly mentors less experienced colleagues.

Position requires routine interaction with key internal and external stakeholders, executives, directors, managers and staff across the organization.
May require working extended hours and/or shift work to support business operations.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering AND 5 – 8 years related business experience, or in lieu of Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 9 – 12 years relevant business experience is required.
  • Comprehensive understanding of applicable standards, methods, processes and practices, business fundamentals, and performance metrics in the specific functional area supported by this position (e.g., asset management, electric or gas operations, customer service, transmission and substation, distribution system operations, regulatory and external affairs, transmission operations and planning).
  • Advanced proficiency in standard software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project), specialized business technologies and applications (e.g., workforce management, project management, PassPort, Brio, CIS, EPS, Business Objects, SAP planning, business modeling, forecasting, voice response unit, automatic call distributors, work management, outage management) to retrieve and analyze data in support of business needs.
  • Ability to provide in-depth analysis and apply managerial accounting concepts, customer intelligence gathering, forecasting, staff planning, scheduling, analytical and statistical problem solving, financial, accounting, business and budget analysis.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills for project evaluation including analysis of complex projects with economic, financial, risk and decision analysis. Proficient in business case development and ability to effectively present business cases to business unit leadership.
  • Customer driven with good oral and written communications skills and strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the practices, procedures and principles of performance analysis (trending, root cause and gap analysis) benchmarking and audit compliance. Ability to analyze organizational data and complex problems, interpret and recommend alternative courses of action, and implement intervention strategies to attain performance targets.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or relevant advanced degree.

As a Sr. Business Analyst, you will execute Honeywell IT strategies to facilitate effective deployment of new business systems to improve Honeywell business results. You will be the liaison between the business and IT solutions to define customer requirements for deployment of new business applications. You will support process redesign and provide training to users to facilitate rapid adoption to applications. Your technical and project management skills will be key to ensuring delivery of highly effective solutions that improve IT user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define requirements, develop plans and schedules and manage risks
  • Participate and collaborate in discussions to support C&CE technical solutions
  • Provide business requirements that Technical leads can translate into architected solutions
  • Ensure C&CE IT project and program management processes are followed in deploying projects
  • Interact with business stakeholders to discover, capture and assess project requirements and produce required documentation and effort estimates of projects
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and support achievement of business objectives
  • Experience of working in a matrix environment with excellent interpersonal, business partnership, team building and all-round leadership skills
  • Partner with Marketing, Engineering, and Sales to identify and build proper business cases
  • Creative and innovative; ability to identify, recommend and implement process improvements
  • Ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships and alliances across internal, external and organization boundaries

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelors’ degree
  • Minimum 5 years of IT Business Analyst experience
  • Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience supporting projects as a BA using agile concepts, practices and tools

  • Bachelors’ degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business/MIS, Software Engineering or related field
  • Excellent communication skills; oral and written; ability to work with various functions
  • Conceptual knowledge of the agile technical practices, such as TDD / BDD, Refactoring, CI, DevOps, and hands-on experience in few of them

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Role is considered to be the Career Level. Perform detailed analysis and prepare comprehensive reports to support business operations. Conduct complex modeling, forecasting, trending, variance analysis, business case development, and other general financial and operational analysis. Monitor and coordinate activities to manage operational performance (e.g., safety, reliability, service level, productivity, etc.). Research and provide statistical financial and operational information. Track, maintain, analyze and provide current information on the operation’s business scorecard or key performance indicators (KPIs). Develop, organize and present performance reports for both internal and external use. Develop and conduct short-term and long-range business planning. May develop, implement, evaluate or lead projects or initiatives (e.g., business plan or process improvement initiatives). Provide broad analytical and operational support to the business unit.

Position may be required to work extended hours, including 24 x 7 coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and conduct short-term and long-range business planning. Conduct complex modeling, forecasting, trending, variance analysis, business case development, and other financial and operational analysis (e.g., operational effectiveness, budget, resource, workload, workforce and capacity utilization, competitor, etc.).
  • Provide statistical information to ensure the most effective utilization of personnel, equipment and/or materials for business operations.
  • Monitor and coordinate activities to manage operational performance (e.g., safety, reliability, service level, productivity, etc.) and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Track, maintain, analyze and provide current information on the operation’s business scorecard or key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Perform analysis of the operation’s cost elements to ensure effective and efficient operations.
  • Prepare and analyze comprehensive and detailed reports.
  • Develop, organize and present detailed performance reports for both internal and external use.
  • May develop, implement, evaluate or lead projects or initiatives (e.g., business plan or process improvement initiatives).
  • Provide broad analytical and operational support to the business unit.

POSITION SCOPE

This is an individual contributor position that works independently with only general direction, relying on knowledge skills and judgment acquired through education and relevant experience to plan and accomplish assigned tasks and goals. The position regularly mentors less experienced colleagues and will crosstrain on all applications used within the department.

Position requires routine interaction with key internal and external stakeholders, executives, directors, managers and staff across the organization.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering AND 5 – 8 years related business experience, or in lieu of Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 9 – 12 years relevant business experience is required.
  • Comprehensive understanding of applicable standards, methods, processes and practices, business fundamentals, and performance metrics in the specific functional area supported by this position (e.g., asset management, electric or gas operations, customer service, transmission and substation, distribution system operations, regulatory and external affairs, transmission operations and planning).
  • Advanced proficiency in standard software applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project), specialized business technologies and applications (e.g., workforce management, project management, Hyperion, OBIEE, PassPort, Brio, CIS, EPS, Business Objects, SAP planning, business modeling, forecasting, voice response unit, automatic call distributors, work management, outage management) to retrieve and analyze data in support of business needs.
  • Ability to provide in-depth analysis and apply managerial accounting concepts, customer intelligence gathering, forecasting, staff planning, scheduling, analytical and statistical problem solving, financial, accounting, business and budget analysis.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills for project evaluation including analysis of complex projects with economic, financial, risk and decision analysis. Proficient in business case development and ability to effectively present business cases to business unit leadership.
  • Customer driven with good oral and written communications skills and strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the practices, procedures and principles of performance analysis (trending, root cause and gap analysis) benchmarking and audit compliance. Ability to analyze organizational data and complex problems, interpret and recommend alternative courses of action, and implement intervention strategies to attain performance targets.

  • MBA or relevant advanced degree.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Serve as the liaison among the business units, Finance, EY and the TO.
  • Manage and perform data collection and analysis for the TO while working with business units and functional counterparts, including Finance.
  • Elicit operational requirements and technology needs using interviews, document analyses, workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, and workflow analyses.
  • Manage the TO PPC tool and coordinate with EY.
  • Develop and manage automated business case templates.
  • Oversee the design of standard and specialized reports for TO tracking and reporting.
  • Support the TO reporting process including stage gate advances, change requests, data uploads, review and report creation
  • Provide consultation to internal business partners and team members with regard to the TO reporting and execution tracking processes
  • Support TO compliance with Internal Audit for PPC, business cases and process flow.
  • Work independently with business unit and functional stakeholders to define benefits & investment for transformation opportunities. Critically review business cases provided by business unit and finance stakeholders, as needed.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with vendors and internal business areas as needed.
  • Perform other relevant duties, as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
:

  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting required.
  • 5+ years related experience with at least 3 years as Business Analyst or equivalent role.
  • Strong analysis background required.
  • Experience with use of technology tools, including (i) tools for project planning and management, reporting, data collection, budgeting, cost control, and performance measurement; and (ii) databases and dashboard reporting tools.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications required.
Preferred Qualifiations:
  • Advanced degree, MBA, preferred.

Job Description

We have a Sr Business Analyst position. The position

is Permanent opportunity. Selected candidates must be willing to join at a

Qualified candidates should be willing to work at Stamford, CT.

Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant industry field (Required)

Master’s in Business Administration, Finance or Engineering

(Preferred)

Responsibility:
Problem and Scope Definition:
Support formulation of problem statement and definition of scope

Drill down beyond the problems surface to understand root cause

Construct problem statement including problem description

Identify key stakeholders and construct stakeholder analysis i.e.

how they are affected

Contribute to project planning and effort estimation within scope

Support the identification of risks and mitigation approaches

Requirements Gathering:
Demonstrate exceptional requirement-gathering skills, leveraging

clear direction from engagement management – Support requirement gathering

sessions

Organize and sequence requirements into a user requirements

document

Write well-formed, validated requirements and manage changes

Use appropriate tools to record, track and manage requirements.
