Job Description

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Transportation Logistics or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in program management, logistics, operations, supply chain, or transportation or equivalent professional, Amazon or military experience
  • Experience leading and owning cross-functional programs
  • Exerience owning the design, implementation, and optimization of initiatives
  • Experience with data mining and data analysis
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc.
  • Experience with analytical tools such as SQL, Tableau, or Microsoft Access

Global Specialty Fulfillment (GSF) is the team that powers worldwide operations for Prime Now, Whole Foods, Fresh, Pantry, Sub Same Day and more. GSF is at the forefront of final mile and ultrafast fulfillment/delivery innovation. As Sr. Program Manager, you will impact critical cost and quality input and output metrics performance for the Sub-Same Day (SSD) delivery operation. An ideal candidate will demonstrate strong business judgment, possess the ability to quickly peel back the layers of an operational problem, and set a course of action to address. The candidate will need to think outside the box to deploy a constant stream of experiments while pursuing root causes and corrective actions and pulling available levers to mitigate current operational concerns.

They will work cross-functionally with the broader business owners as well as operations leadership to deliver on behalf of our customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Own the development of robust processes to drive continuous improvement
  • Building powerful relationships with Tech, Retail, Operations, S&OP, etc to ensure new policies/processes/products are successfully scoped, rolled out and measured against key metrics
  • Developing and utilizing data inputs and KPI’s to inform operational adjustments
  • Define and create processes that will scale to meet growing business demands
  • Partnering with Directors, VPs, and other key operational and technical leaders across the organization.

  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary; general manager / owner mentality

  • MBA/MS and work experience in dedicated project management highly desired
  • Practical application of program management methodology including PMP/Lean Six Sigma/Kaizen
  • Advanced knowledge of analytical tools such as SQL, Tableau, MS Excel, or Microsoft Access
  • Demonstrated ability working in an ambiguous environment
  • Experience handling changing priorities and using good judgment when working in stressful situations
  • Demonstrable problem-solving, mathematic, and analytical skills using data to drive decisions in a business environment
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in effective communication of goals and strategies across multiple leadership levels of an organization
  • Proven ability to influence internal/external stakeholders without authority to adopt new processes/initiatives
  • Executive level written and oral communication skills
  • High attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple competing projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Demonstrated success in thinking strategically and executing methodically
  • Analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases
  • Demonstrated experience communicating data insights to others, including use of data visualization tools
  • Demonstrated ability to dive deep in understanding the product, our business and the competitive landscape
