Risk Management and Compliance, under the direction of the firm’s CRO, provides a firmwide independent function for the management and oversight of risks. The Risk Governance and Strategy Team, within Corporate Risk, complements this mission by supporting the firm’s CRO and Risk Management and Compliance CFO in running a world-class organization through development of strategic initiatives, sound governance and impactful content, disciplined project and solutions delivery, and business management services.

Role and Responsibilities:

The Strategic Initiatives Associate will be responsible for leading high-profile, cross-Risk Management and Compliance initiatives to deliver insightful analysis for the most senior level audiences in Risk and Compliance, the Operating Committee and the Board. This individual will operate at the center of the Risk Management and Compliance organization, with exposure to all risk areas and line of business risk teams and functions. The Associate will have the opportunity work on a wide variety of topics and issues and play a significant role in analyzing emerging issues/risks, working with stakeholders across the organization to perform analysis and pull the information together, storyboarding content, and transforming ideas and concepts into clear concise presentations. Additionally, the Associate will improve or revamp existing and new reports and processes. The ideal candidate must have a good understanding of the core components of risk management and superior attention to detail, with an understating of what level of detail is appropriate to effectively distill, challenge and influence messaging.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in the financial services industry
  • Strong, clear and concise written and verbal communication skills with significant responsibilities for editing and preparing executive level presentations
  • Proven ability to build strong partnerships, work across topics and engage directly with senior leaders

  • Strong project management skills, prior experience driving cross-organizational initiatives that are intrinsically complex
  • Management consulting or strategy experience preferred
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the evolving market and operating environment including Risk Management and Compliance concepts (preferably credit risk)
  • Creative and analytical mindset with the ability to generate big new ideas

  • High degree of initiative, self-direction
  • Ability to work well under pressure with multiple competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Outstanding judgment, problem solving ability and resourcefulness


Technical skills:

  • Expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint (absolutely required)
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to clearly articulate complex concepts
  • Sample work must be provided
