Institutional Infrastructure Solutions (IIS) is a new business unit that provides world-class service to Morgan Stanley’s institutional clients including Multi-Family Offices and the Graystone business. IIS supports clients in partnership with Morgan Stanley’s Fund Services infrastructure, an outsourced Wealth Management OCIO, the client’s MS Financial Advisor, and WM Operations. IIS specifically supports all client service model execution processes including Client Onboarding and Maintenance, Money Movement, Asset Aggregation and Accounting, Billing, and Client/IO Reporting
The candidate will be responsible for supporting strategic initiatives for the Institutional client segment across both Institutional and Wealth Management divisions at Morgan Stanley. The candidate will help execute strategies focused on building and scaling a premier shared service model, creating and deploying new service offerings, and ensuring that the entire firm can be delivered to our institutional client segment. The candidate will be responsible for identifying and sizing opportunities/problems, conducting competitive and analytical analyses, leading projects from inception to implementation, and engaging with senior leadership across multiple business lines.
We are seeking a candidate with a strong strategic mindset and entrepreneurial spirit, with proven experience in a strategy or business management and a solid understanding of the wealth management business.
Primary Responsibilities:
‒ Support the strategy and project management for several critical projects to create new service offerings and enhance internal processes for the institutional client segment
‒ Help support all aspects of large-scale and complex work-streams including: conceptualizing project scope, timelines, and dependencies; tracking and reporting of key milestones; and engaging/influencing project stakeholders
‒ Discover and document existing processes with the goal of determining bottle-necks to providing white glove service and effective operations
‒ Develop a framework to establish various KPIs to drive continuous process and service improvement
‒ Help determine best usage of identified business opportunities to drive business incentives and rewards including ROI scenarios for new or changes to service offerings
‒ Conduct primary and secondary research to define complex business problems and develop both tactical and strategic solutions
‒ Prepare and deliver persuasive, data-driven arguments and presentations to senior management to allow for informed strategic decision-making
‒ Business management responsibilities include business planning, policy formation, budgeting, real estate management and headcount tracking
‒ Be solutions- and detail-oriented and quickly turnaround high-quality work without sacrificing speed or accuracy

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:
‒ 3+ years of experience in financial services, wealth management, and/or business strategy/management related fields
‒ Undergraduate degree required
‒ Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem solving skills with the ability to define complex business problems, synthesize data, and provide and execute on tactical and strategic solutions
‒ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team, and under strict and changing deadlines
‒ Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, accountability, and work ethic
‒ Strong project management, organizational, communication, and analytical skills
‒ Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g.: Lean/Six Sigma) preferred
‒ A track record of success and a demonstrated ability to exercise good judgement and discretion
