What You’ll Do

As a Technical Leader, you will lead technical discussion on projects. You’ll help us evaluate new and emerging technologies and determine applicability to current and future projects. You will architect and design new software product features, help drive projects to completion, define system technical use cases and architecture specification in alignment with business/product requirements.

Our team, CXP Innovation Lab, defines a strategic direction related to data to value technologies across the Cisco Customer Experience(CX) organization. The CXP Innovation Lab team develops systems of insights in the area of IoT, Cloud, Data Center, Network and Service Provider. We are excited to have you join our team of experienced software engineers to work on projects that have global impact on the CX organization. In these projects, the technical leader collaborates very closely with the business strategy, product management as well as engineering and the execution teams.

Who You Are

You’ve got a strong background in system architecture and design, documentation, implementation and deployment, on projects. You have deep knowledge of software systems development background, of open source cloud technologies and application platforms and are a strategic thinker (system level) that can look at the big picture, abstract workflows and provide technical assistance in technology to be used at the strategic level. Responsibilities:
Collaborate across organizational boundaries to ensure the shared roadmap and streamlined delivery of features

Conduct data analysis, insights and document processes for data engineering teams and architects

Develop conceptual, logical data models and flow charts.

Analyze projects and drive data requirements and transformations as needed.

Design a technical framework that can address potential data quality issues proactively.

Correlate large datasets from all business divisions for analysis, threading and enrichments in the data flow.

Develop strategy to identify and access the required data sources to support the analysis and enrichment and gain access to data through collaboration with cross functional units.

Build a comprehensive and deep understanding of the data we work with and impart that understanding to engineering teams.

Understand the business needs of cross functional stakeholders, make recommendations for appropriate data pipelines

Effectively Communicate the results to the stakeholders and cross functional partners

Skill sets:

  • Proven experience of 10+ years as a Data Architect, Data Engineer.
  • Practical experience of designing and implementing open source technologies like Apache Kafka, Flink, Sqoop.
  • In-depth understanding of big-data architectures on the cloud and interacting with web services.
  • Strong knowledge around data warehousing, database architectures and data modeling.
  • Expertise in leveraging AWS Cloud services to implement and operationalize the data lake.
  • Experience in Python, Spark.
  • Experience in SQL and advanced SQL concepts
  • Familiarity with logical and business data models development.
  • Translate Business and functional requirements into data pipeline requirements for the engineering teams
  • Comfortable working critical timelines and fast paced environment.
  • Team Player and ability to mentor and guide young data engineers
  • Ability to troubleshoot data and architecture related issues.
