What does a great VP, GM, Enterprise Products, Digital Commerce do?

The Vice President (VP) of Product Management, Digital Channels – Enterprise Applications, will provide the vision, critical thinking and leadership required to develop and deliver industry leading solutions passionate about cyber-digital authentication, coordinated digital products, intelligent engagement and digital servicing. This is an incredible opportunity to drive innovation on a significant scale, leveraging Fiserv’s large existing customer base. This leader will be responsible for assessing the competitive landscape, understanding client’s needs and Fiserv’s capabilities, and developing innovative products that address client concerns and generate a meaningful return on investment for Fiserv. S/he will lead a hardworking team of professionals that operate horizontally across channels to create client value by delivering digital solutions through innovation and FinTech partnerships that provide improved efficiency, growth, and engagement, resulting in a growing and profitable revenue base

Is a strong leader who knows how to run a software business from a strategic product and operations perspective. You know how to drive a large P&L and position it for healthy, sustainable growth and have a combination of vision and innovation along with successful execution of these strategies through both direct and matrix teams in product management, implementation, professional services teams and platform development.


Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for the P&L for all Enterprise Products
  • Responsible for developing relationships with key product partners and establishing new white label offerings to be sold as digital add-on products to Fiserv’s industry leading digital solution
  • Work across teams to optimize the client experience related to Enterprise Products
  • Generate a revenue growth plan that grows the business to $200M+ over the next 3-5 years

Lead the Product Management team and function:

  • Develop and lead a team of capable Product Management professionals, including appropriate skill-building, tooling, and coaching
  • Mature and continuously optimize the end-to-end product life cycle.
  • Establish a clear product vision, strategy, roadmap, and prioritized product portfolio:
  • Contribute a strong Product focus and market perspective to Fiserv’s business strategy and translate the business strategy into tangible product line strategies that ensures the division meets its growth objectives
  • Evangelize the product vision and strategy throughout the organization and ensure methodical translation into ambitious but practical roadmaps, prioritized development projects, and product definitions clear enough for developers to build efficiently and effectively
  • Oversee Product Managers in the development of pricing, packaging/bundling, and distribution approaches.
  • Establish and grow relationships with key stakeholder groups for Digital Channels’ products:
  • Actively participate in enterprise wide strategies initiatives and collaboration groups as an inspiring leader
  • Partner with Product Development, Enterprise Architecture and User Experience Design to ensure compelling product strategies and roadmaps are turned into concrete releases delivered as scoped, on time and within budget
  • Own Go-To-Market activities by working with Sales and Marketing to achieve desired revenue, profit, and client/user satisfaction outcomes through successful channel management, adoption, and marketing activities


Candidate Description

  • The ideal candidate is a specialist in security and digital financial services who has conceived innovative products, launched them through a large, established client channel, and led their growth and profitability. Product development/ management experience is required. Candidates could come from competing financial technology companies, banks, brokerages, mobile payments innovators, other software providers, or possibly consulting firms.
  • Fiserv has adopted Pragmatic Marketing as their framework for managing and marketing their products, and familiarity with that model would be highly beneficial. While the VP will not lead application development, understanding software engineering and process management will be required. Candidates should demonstrate not only conceptual ability but deep analytical strengths and financial acumen. Candidates must also have the confidence, communication and influencing skills to present to the most senior audiences and to influence peers.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  • General Manager-level experience with P&L responsibility of ~$65M annual revenue or greater within a fast-paced, dynamic business-to-business environment supplying technology solutions to the financial services industry, both domestic and international is helpful.
  • Experience working with a large multi-location team across the US and global locations.
  • Product Management experience of growing responsibilities in product & solutions management. Comfortable working with technologists in the development of new products.
  • Experience with leading Hosted/SaaS solutions in the financial services sector.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with the customer base by demonstrating a strong understanding of the financial services industry and how technology and service drives their business.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a complex business environment with capability to adapt and drive cultural transformation.
  • Experience managing a team, direct and matrixed, as a leader of ~30 or more employees.
  • Track record of building effective teams and leading those teams in an organization driving substantial industry change; building strong working relationships with all levels within Fiserv.
  • Successful leadership of teams responsible for both the vision and strategy combined with the tactical execution and related day to day management
  • BA/BS required; MBA preferred.
